Volunteering events
We run a series of volunteer related events throughout the academic year that your organisation can get involved in. These include:
Volunteering Fair
The Volunteering Fair attracts hundreds of students interested in volunteering with charities and not-for-profit organisations. This is our main student-facing event, providing you with a great chance to promote your organisation directly to our students and is free to attend.
The next Fair, hosted in partnership with the Students' Union is taking place on Monday 6 October 2025. It is a free event, providing a brilliant opportunity for our partner organisations to showcase their great volunteering opportunities to our students and recruit new volunteers.
Student Volunteering Week
This week-long celebration of everything to do with student volunteering takes place in February every year! The exact dates for Student Volunteering Week 2026 are still to be confirmed.
Volunteer of the Year Awards
The University of Manchester hosts its annual Volunteer of the Year Awards in which we celebrate the contributions of University of Manchester students.
The 2025 Award Ceremony took place on 6 May 2025, with all the winners announced then. Nominations for the 2026 Awards are due to open in January 2026.
